The main natural sites
Visit the region's beauty spots :
The seaside :
The fine sandy beach in Calais, ideal for family outings, a swim with friends or a romantic sunset with someone special, is only 100 meters from the hostel.
Further along the Opal Coast :
The site of the 2 Caps - Cap Blanc Nez (White Nose Cliff) and Cap Gris Nez (Grey Nose Cliff) - is not to be missed for the magnificent views from the clifftops and for lungfuls of bracing sea air.
Inland :
For a taste of the country after the seaside, try a boat ride in the Marais Audomarois (160 kilometers of rivers around St Omer), a walk in the Guines woods, or a cycle ride along country lanes.
Our town and its heritage
Immerse yourself in the history of Calais by visiting its numerous monuments, such as the Town Hall and its bell-tower, Rodin's famous statue of the Six Burghers (Les Six Bourgeois de Calais), the Watchtower, the recently renovated Theatre, or the lighthouse with its panoramic view of Calais and the surrounding area from the top.
You can learn more about the town and its identity in various museums:- La Cité Internationale de la Dentelle et de la Mode (International Lace & Fashion museum), the War Museum and Le Musée des Beaux Arts et de la Dentelle (Fine Arts and Lace Museum) are well worth a visit.
